Looking for a used car for around £5000 .... keep seeing Vauxhall Zafiras for around that price We don't need a 7 seater as just 2dc but would fold them down and use the boot space - we need a really generous boot ! In fact that is our main criteria! Currently have a Picasso - has been a good car for us but now on its last legs :(
Zafiras don't seem to get great reviews online - anyone had one and thought it was ok??

That's so funny. I swear by Vauxhall myself. We had an Astra before this that never broke down in the 15 years we had it (and it was 5 years old when we bought it) with dh driving it 40 minutes each way to work every day.

We've had the Zafira about 4 years and had no problems as yet. We get it serviced once a year and occasionally it needs minor parts. But the good thing about Vauxhall is that they're cheap. My mum had a Renault and the servicing and repairs were astonishingly expensive in comparison.

We got rid of the Astra not because it wasn't working - it was so old it was embarrassing. But it worked perfectly.

Have to say I hate Vauxhalls. But like you had 5000 to spend in 2010 and was able to afford a 3 year old Zafira or 5-6 year old verisiobs of everything else.

So ended up with one. Now 2017 still running fine just sailed through its MOT never had a problem. It does cheap family bus really well.

I can't fault it. If I had more money choice I may have bought something else. But I didn't and I really can't fault the zafria at all.

Ours is 2007 1.6 Petrol. Done some long European runs.

Also have a large mondeo company which has been a nightmare. Going back next week being replaced with brand new superb.
