I'm looking for a good deal on a decent tv. Doesn't need to be HV. Anyone see a good deal?

I've had a search but not sure what to get?

TIA

hi, bought a new TV last month (all singing all dancing flat plasma thing -DH just HAD to have this one!!!) anyway he did LOTS of searching and we bought from martindawes.com / or co.uk (not sure) anyway we saved £500 on comet/currys store price - worth a look. Hope this helps.

make sure it's HD ready

Ulysees · 03/03/2007 19:15

does it matter if it isn't HD ready?

Not worth buying if not HD ready as this is the future.....(said the man in comet!)

dixons have good prices

how much did you want to spend

derlor · 03/03/2007 19:20

basically we went to comet/currys got lots of advice and nodded appropriately then came home and bought for much less. TV shopping is SO complicated these days I was baffled till we spoke to shop TV geeks

zippitippitoes · 03/03/2007 19:26

here

zippitippitoes · 03/03/2007 19:29

this is brilliant

Ulysees · 04/03/2007 12:20

want to spend as little as possible really as just left dh and moving to a new place. I had to buy lots of new stuff.
thanks for links zippitoes, bit high for me. I think it's going to have to be 2nd hand now but that's ok. I'll have to forget about HD ready for now. I only ever watch dvds on it and sometimes most haunted but won't have living tv anyway when I move. Kids mostly watch dvds too.

Just ordered an unsinging, undancing one from Comet for 139.99. It isn't flat screen but I don't mind that. I can always get a better one when I'm settled.
thanks for help though
