...To demand my money back from Clarkes re dd1s shoes? Story is, bought her open toe sandals there 2 weeks ago, 6 days later toe come away from sole. Got them exchanged last Monday for a different style/sole,5 days later it's happened again!!! I remember last time she was waffling on about a credit note but I wasn't really listening as we'd exchanged. But I don't want a credit note I want my money back. Anyone one know.....before 8.15, as off to dd2 stupily early swimming lesson!

I think that you are - as the goods are faulty. If you had simply changed your mind, they can refuse refund & give you a credit note, but in your case I believe the law entitles you to refund. good luck.

If the goods are not of satisfactory quality (which they clearly are not), you are entitled to a full refund. The shop cannot fob you off with a credit note. Quote the Sale of Goods Act 1979.

Got money back no problem! She said she wouldn't insult me by offering a credit note. Then got dds shoes in a sale somewhere else!

Well done Batey! Amazing though, always thought Clarks were decent quality for kid's shoes...

I think clarks are overrated rubbish.

woodpops · 26/06/2004 21:53

lou33, I totally agree with you. Had dd feet measured for her 1st shoes at Clarks and she was a 2½, so as they do the shop assistant went off out the back to see what styles they had in that size. Came back with 4 different styles of shoes and told us we haven't got any in a 2½ but we've got these and they're all size 4. Do you want to try them?? Yeah right. I got the distinct impression they don't give a toss other than getting your money in the till so went to startrite and got her a fab pair of shoes!!!

lou33 · 26/06/2004 21:56

They always do that. I don't bother with them any more now, after they did it , and I asked them why if they measured her feet do they come out with all these other sizes saying they fit instead. I was told the foot measuring was not foot measuring but a foot guideline so they knew where to start >. They always fitted my kids wrongly anyway.

Totally agree about Clarkes. Dd has always had start-rite as that is the brand stocked by a great little inependant shop locally.

For her last pair though I went to a shop selling Clarkes as thry are £25 as oppsed to £32. They havn't lasted long at all, the sole is coming away. They aree nowhere near as well made.
