I brought a bugaboo from ebay a few weeks ago, costing me £369. Never ecieved, but Im in the same boat as 20 other buyers who all brought from same seller (she made £3k!!)
Item never recieved, so i thought, fine I will file with paypal and get money back. They looked into it and gave me £105 back!!! Thats all, if they cant recover rest from seller, I wont get any more

Have rang them and they gave me bull about that seller could have sent money offs omewhere else as she wasnt verified she could only draw £500, oh and how the £105 has come from their pocket!! Like they dont make enough money.
I could just cry all over again writing this

PersonalClown · 02/03/2007 19:41

Then I know you too!!! I used to live in same block of flats as Misdee!!

misdee · 02/03/2007 19:42

yes she just gets away with it. webay make a big thing of paypal being safe etc etc how you are protected but at the end of the day you arent. its f-ing stinks!

totaleclipse · 02/03/2007 19:42

Jesus, what happened to my typing?

octopussyintummy · 02/03/2007 19:42

Can you report it to the police as fraud?

totaleclipse · 02/03/2007 19:43

So can she just go and do it again, and still get away with it, why dont paypal involve the police?

totaleclipse · 02/03/2007 19:45

I would contact all the other buyers who were robbed, and together make a big hoohar with paypal, and the police.

octopussyintummy · 02/03/2007 19:46

I have found paypal great at resolving disputes - have had two

  1. seller on collection only not replying to messages - they froze his account until replied and I was happy

  2. items not received - full amount refunded as seller failed to respond to their emails

But they were both less than £50 - not sure would have happened if over that. Sorry to hear you have lost so much money - happened to an antenatal buddy recently - think she was protected through erh credit card in the end which she used to pay through paypal...

lisad123 · 02/03/2007 19:46

small world, living in same block as my sister

police have been called but not holding much hope there either, have her addy and phone number and some poeple have been there but house is shut up

Paypal is terrible, unless seller is paypal protected (very hard to get!) if your item is over £15 and anything over, most you will ever get back is £105

hi,

my DP said was the money in your paypal account or was it in your bank account?

if it was in your bank account then transfered from there through paypal contact your bank as its their responsibility and your a victim of fraud, you may be covered through them (??)
