Following on from the thread where I was deliberating what to do:

Having chatted to the nursery nurses as dicreetly as I could I did get the impression that they don't really have much of the smaller outdoor type toys, and certainly no ball games types of things.

So me and DD went to ELC this lunchtime and have spent about £20 on lots of little toys for outsideand we are really pleased with what we got four money. It was all on 3 for 2 offers, so we just made sure we put everything through in 3 lots to get the best discounts.

This is what we bought:

  • Cricket set
  • 2 tennis rackets
  • Egg and spoon race toys (has 4 sets inside)
  • Soft mini balls pack (3 balls - rugby, football, basketball)
  • 2 x skipping ropes
  • pack of 4 bean bags
  • 2 packs of foam tennis balls (3 balls in each pack).

So all in all I am really pleased. All this should last them throughout this summer outside, and hopefully a bit during the winter too.

Forget that we also bought DD a giant, inflatable Snakes and Laddrs game. We have played it a few times now and I have to say i was a bargain really at just £5. Great fun!

speaking as a nursery nurse, sounds fab.
