Completely agree with bagpuss. Would go with a Maclaren every time.

another vote for Maclaren. M&P great with tiny babies, esp if you walk a lot but too heavy in the long run.

The perennial dilemma - this is why people end up with more than one pushchair. We've had a Maclaren for almost 6 years and it is now a bit tatty but has served its purpose as a lightweight stroller pretty well. Used form around 6 months regularly but occasionally before that for short shopping trips. However they are not the most comfortable of beasts for small babies, even with a muff to pad out, and if you need your baby to sleep well in it you might be better looking at a more substantial (if heavier) one such as the M and P Pliko, Chicco Trekking, Inglesina or Jane which have better suspension and smoother ride. These also tend to fully recline and have bumper bars which are great when they are sitting up but not yet wanting to climb out. The seats are higher up too.
