Car for carrying bikes in - any suggestions?

Hi, just wondering if anyone has found the perfect family car for transporting bikes. Two adults, 2 kids, 4 bikes with bikes getting bigger as the kids do... we currently manage 3 bikes on a bike rack at the back but it's a bit unwieldy. I was thinking that with something like a Touran or Zafira with back seat scolded down, there might be enough space for carrying kids' bikes at least. Or even an adult bike. Let me know if you have any solutions. Thanks all

18 inch kids bike fits in the back of a touran, only just though, and that's with the middle seats pushed forward.

You could easily fit a couple in if you take off the front wheel though.

You'd get lots in with the middle row of seats folded down, but it doesn't fold to the same level as the main boot, maybe 6" higher

The Seat has a slightly larger boot, might be worth a look

Thanks SheRaaargh. That's really useful. Which Seat were you thinking of?

Seat Alhambra. Seems basically the same car, but it's slightly larger.

VW transporter! Is the best solution. We are a mountain biking family. Can't afford a t5 though, so have been looking at the vauxhall vivaros.
Alternatively, get a tow bar fitted and get a tow bar bike rack, they're much more sturdy.

Ford focus with foldable rear seats.
