any recommendations on which brands/models would be good and easy to operate (me not so hot on techy stuff) and CHEAP-ish to boot. dh says everyone's using digital ones nowadays, but i'm not fussed either way.

My tip for getting a bargain is to get a catalogue. Most catalogues (Freemans, Abound etc) have at least 25% off your first order and 6mths interest free credit! Although the camcorders are probably 10% more expensive than in the high street it all works out much cheaper once you take off the first order discount. The starting price for a Digital is about £199... so with your 25% off that would be £149. If you chose the 6mth interest free that would only be £25 per month. HTH. IMO if you're going to buy one, you might as well get a Digital.

Meant to say, we have a Samsung and we luurrrrv it! It was £300 and well worth it.
