Saw your post on perfect t-shirt thread. Has your Boden t-shirt arrived yet? Worth the money?

hi StickyNote, I've got it on
it's a sort of dusty pink colour, very soft & cottony, not the finest weave iykwim but I like that. mine is a size 14, and doesn't cling in that horrid way to my (big) bum. I've not washed it yet (slut) but will let you know how it washes. it's not got any lycra in it, if that makes a difference to you, so it skims rather than clings and I'd say it's thicker than the average (made in Portugal for any footy fans..)
it's this one

codswallop · 22/06/2004 14:30

i have hte sleeveless one

well worthmoney
not tumble dry tho

bundle · 22/06/2004 14:40

I have sleeveless one too, a white one. v nice.

motherinferior · 22/06/2004 15:07

What's the neckline like?

(She says, in her Primark £2.50 splendour)?

bundle · 22/06/2004 15:09

high-ish, thinnish line of fabric doubled over, and overlocked. i suppose having looked at the website again, it is pricey, but dh got a discount apparently

bundle · 22/06/2004 15:10

( nothing wrong with primark, have a lovely £6.99 black/purpley pink a-line spotty skirt from last season)

motherinferior · 22/06/2004 15:15

Suspect it would make me look like a Sumo wrestler, alas. I'll wait till those nice raw-edged expensive fabric tops go on sale.

Primark has some great linen-mix drawstring trousers in at the moment, btw.

bundle · 22/06/2004 15:27

MI, do you mean the silk ones? and what colour do the linen trews come in??

motherinferior · 22/06/2004 15:42

I mean the cotton ones that are nearly, dammit, sold out.

Linen mix trews are in black, khaki and I think pink. I spotted some pure linen ones in River Island the other day, just before I realised that everyone else in the world was wearing little cotton skirts and I looked like Drab Mummy.

bundle · 22/06/2004 15:49

pink??? my favourite colour atm.

if you mean this one , I ordered it & sent it back because the cut was really uncomfortable & ill-fitting, around the neck iykwim.

motherinferior · 22/06/2004 16:15

I think they were pink. There's lots of pink around atm - I know Next has linen pink drawstring trousers. Cheapo chain Peacock's has rather wonderful bias-cut pink linen/viscose skirts for a tenner!

No, the tops I meant were, here goes \link{http://www.boden.co.uk/col.asp?segname=Women&styid=WA056&segid=6&gpname=Woven+Tops&desname=Printed+Cotton+Top&gpid=28&gen=\these

motherinferior · 22/06/2004 16:16

WHY CAN'T I DO A LINK???

Grin
bundle · 22/06/2004 16:23

(they look nice, especially the pink ones, but I would say that, wouldn't I?)

motherinferior · 22/06/2004 16:25

Can't do pink adjacent to my red hair, I have reluctantly realised.

StickyNote · 22/06/2004 16:25

Thanks Bundle, looks perfect...

MI, I also have the skirt which is pink/red (worn with the white t shirt in the link below) so pink/red = good in our house...

motherinferior · 23/06/2004 08:12

MK1 also has fab red cotton/lycra skirts. Not that I am queen of the cheapo shops or anything.

bundle · 23/06/2004 11:55

have you been to uniqlo? they have the odd nice piece, though a lot of their stock is a bit shapeless. their jersey cami tops/leggings are a bit of a must.

florenceuk · 23/06/2004 11:57

MI, I also like those Boden tops, but am pregnant so no excuse to buy one. But actually I think this one in Kew is kind of similar in shape and cheaper:

chiffon edged t-shirt . It's a bit hard to tell from the picture, but the chiffon edge is patterned.

I really like Kew, actually I like Jigsaw but this is just a bit more affordable - all academic at the moment of course...

motherinferior · 23/06/2004 12:08

ahem, have two very similar Kew tops already!
never got to grips with uniqlo...

allatsea · 23/06/2004 12:23

I've just got one of these and it's lovely, slightly fitted without being clingy (doesn't emphasise the spare tyre) and not too fussy around the 'maternal' chest.
frilly top

clary · 23/06/2004 12:53

I am just now wearing a lovely Boden top which I recommend; cotton with a silk V-neck, flattering to big boobes and not too baggy, nice and soft, nice lilacy colour too. I'm going to try a link now:
silktrim v-neck
Wow it works! I feel like a real techy now

motherinferior · 23/06/2004 15:34

Y OH WHY can't I do expletive deleted links and I could show you the top I'm wearing...

florenceuk · 23/06/2004 16:13

OK MI try and post the link, and I'll see if I can fix it up!
