There should be codes listed on the site when you reach checkout - it's free delivery on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from memory...

bea · 21/06/2004 21:03

there are a couple on the first message here, it says for 1st delivery but you can try and see if it works Discount Codes Thread

Branster · 21/06/2004 21:10

these are for £10 off bea so if you choose a delivery for free on those particular days, try these codes as well, it might work (or not, but worth a try)

GeorginaA · 21/06/2004 21:31

It takes ages the first few times, but speeds up once you can use "your usual".

Which reminds me, I should have done the shopping tonight. Oh well. Can't be arsed now

It is well worth complaining about these shopping websites. I complained to Asda a few times and they invited me to a customer consultation evening where I told them what I thought of them for an hour and they gave me a £20 shopping voucher.

Chuffed · 22/06/2004 13:06

I gave up on Sainsburys as the website was so crap and now shop at Tesco's, I told them too but they didn't seem to care.

daisy1999 · 23/06/2004 09:24

I had numerous problems with Sainsburys online, items missing, charged for items not ordered and not received, not credited for returned items (things they had substituted-a loaf instead of a light bulb!), at one point they owed me £40 and said they'd credited it to me and if it was on someone elses account instead of mine then that was my problem!!! Very poor if you have a problem. I always shop at Tesco now. Sainsburys don't really do customer service.

foxinsocks · 23/06/2004 09:29

I've always had great service with Sainsburys. When I've told them something's wrong they've fixed it and I've always been credited for anything I'm not happy with.

As for Tescos - I had a few deliveries from them and I wasn't happy at all. All the meat was very short dated and I found the website really cumbersome. Once you have a list at Sainsburys it's really quite easy. It only takes me around 15 mins to go through my 'usual' list now and pick out what we need.

I do think it entirely depends what your local stores are like. Our Sainsburys delivery comes from a massive store where they have loads of items whereas the Tescos one is smaller(and further away).

hmb · 23/06/2004 09:32

Problems might be with an idividual shop. Our local one is great, they always point out substitutions, and they are general OK, but will take them back with no problems. I've just done the shop in 15 mins while sipping a cuppa. My man Jim will be delivering tomorrow! Life saver!

Easy · 23/06/2004 10:19

My mums neighbour, who used to work at Tesco's says they will take all my sainsbury's discount voucers off one single delivery (I have a newspaper cutting with £20 worth,a £10 and 2 X £5).

Does anyone know how this works?

sweetkitty · 23/06/2004 10:42

Sainsbury's do free delivery if you spend over £60 on a Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. You have to order well in advance though as the most popular slots get filled up quickly. The codes are on the "checkout" screen at the end.

Takes me about 10 mins max now I have my usual list set up. I used to use Tesco's but they messed up my delivery so many times I went to Sainsburys instead, they don't get it right every time but it's mostly OK.

hmb · 23/06/2004 10:45

And I estimate that I am saving about £20 a week by planning my shop and not impulse buying.

bea · 23/06/2004 11:25

well! i defected to tesco's in the end... web site hugely better, ordered last night, came this morning at the right time... only two items missing but i phoned up and they've credited the amount back to my card... quite satisfied and will prob use again!!!

Easy - Give your Sainsbury vouchers to the Tesco delivery driver (I think you can only use a max of £15.00 per delivery). Make sure you write your name and address somewhere on them, as the drivers can't always be relied on to do it. They should be credited back onto your payment card within the week - but make sure you check they have been!
