Also looking at Wickes, Howdens, etc.

Have a look on the bbc website as I might be getting the name mixed up with something else, but there was a report on Watchdog recently about a kitchen company that was basically ripping people off.

I've just had a quick look at national kitchens website - I would be very suspicious of any company that only wants contact by email, particularly as a kitchen is expensive, and something on which you want to get all the details right.

Hi Roskvawantingsomesunshine, did you ever remember who the kitchen people were? WE are wanting a new kitchen, and have been approached by SPACE kitchens. They quoted way over our budget, but then a colleague who lives local to me too, had one installed a week or so back by SPACE, and it looks great - very sturdy good quality - but way over priced.

Could do with some recommendations. xx

Wolfgirl you need:
Fieldhouse Kitchens & Bedrooms Ltd
01934 418436
Unit 5, Winterstoke Road, Weston Super Mare, BS23 3YB

He is absoutely excellent and will work to your budget. Ours was something like £2.8k for units, worktop, sink, tap, cookerhood, tiling. Designed it and built to fit so some units were made to measure. He designs it, builds it, arranges fitter & tiler. Fitted in 3.5 days and a day for tiling. It worked out much the same as a B&Q/MFI cheaper end price but looked as if we had spent loads. We ended up moving shortly after it was done and when I told my neighbour I was going her eyes filled up with tears and all she could say was "but your lovely kitchen" !

ChocolateTeapot, would this guy come to the house and do a valuation/design? would he charge for that?

ChocolateTeapot · 11/03/2007 17:24

He came to us and did a design and quote for free, I assume he still does this.

Wolfgirl · 12/03/2007 19:26

Hey Choc-T, called him and he is coming over this Wed to take a look. Will let you know how it all goes. xx

Hello

First off, I work for National Kitchens, just so that's clear ^^

I came across this thread and felt the need to respond to the comments made by Roskvawantingsomesunshine...
a) We are not the company you're referring to that has been ripping people off. Perhaps doing a little research before you post will discount you making erroneous posts again? We are UK Home Furnishings Ltd who trade as National Kitchens UK. We are not and have never been reported as a company who 'rip people off'.
b) There is not now, nor has there ever been any indication on our site that we "only want contact via email". In fact our Contact page gives our postal address and phone number as well as our email address. We welcome contact by any of these means.

Now, that being said, i'll add the following.

We pride ourselves on offering a quality product at 'shed' prices, couple this with an extremely attentive service and you could do much worse than to look at us as your supplier.

Should anyone wish to discuss your requirements or any of the points raised above, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Regards

Alec
