looking at a jane pwertwin at the mo,would prefer a one in front of the other as our pavements round here are very narrow.

has anyone got a jane powertwin?what are they like?

been looking on ebay, seen teh phil n teds one,but remember a mnetter saying her lo had peed and it had gone on the baby!so think that rules out the p and t!!!

hi misdee!!its stuck in my mind since i read that about what happened!!

my dd is 2 and baby is due oct but will be early (all mine are!!).dd has cf and asthma and gets out of breath when walking, otherwise i wouldnt bother with a twin pram!!but i think im going to need one, especially as it'll be starting to get colder when baby arrives and that usually starts dd off.

dd is only small by the way, shes in size 12 -18 mth clothes,so will prob fit in twin pram for a long time!!!

I tried them all and found the best was the phil & Teds E3 Twin (its a side by side but it fits through most standard doors - don't ask me how but it does!

It pushes like a dream much much lighter than the jane powertwin and turns on a sixpence.

The only pram I found which doesnt matter if you have a toddler and baby in (most doubles and tandems lean to the heaviest side) but the E3 twin stays straight.

Although I found my ideal pram when my toddler decided she would walk instead.

I'v now put it on the mn for sale thread.

Hi Buffy ,

I've got a Jane Powertwin and I love it. I did have a Mothercare tandem buggy but it was heavy and awkward. The powertwin is very easy in comparison. It is expensive but worth imo.

we have a powertwin and after a few teething problems with the front wheel (had to go back to NI to be repaired) it's been fine. I have a 21 month gap and it's v roomy for the toddler in front ( she's small too) I'd reccomend buying one from a reputable shop in person and not online - we had hassle in getting the online shop we bought it from to return it on our behalf and it took a few months of emails and phonecalls. I'd def buy from John Lewis even if it's a few more quid.

powertwin v easy to fold up for boot of car as well

I would also think about the option of getting a cheap lay back pram stroller for the baby or DD (you may even have one left from DD) so that you have the option of having 2 'normal' sized puschairs if you are out with DP/DH. I had DTDs first so went for a twin (side by side) and it was so liberating to actually get them 2 strolllers when they were 2 even though it meant both me and DP were both tied up. No matter how well the double puschair pushes and manouvers it is always far easier to push 2 singles if there are 2 of you that can push.

hana · 20/02/2007 14:47

agree, having 2 singles is good when you can't be bothered with the double or need to split up

I have just bought a twin maclaren from this they were really helpful as I had loads of questions and it was nice that an internet shop would chat to you on the phone. They offer all well known brands at low prices so I got a really good bargin. Check them out. Well recommended.
