we got something through the post saying that sky was offering phone, tv, broadband for £26 basic package. you have to have BT line. - we havent so it would also cost us installation of bt line, bt line line rental + installation charge for sky

we pay £50 for ntl basic which has fewer channels.

so we phone them up and ask what they can do for us - cos we quite fancy this sky package and were gonna leave them.

so they offer us 10 mb broadband but they have to install sommat or other - or same 4mb broadband we have and free phone calls - thats free phone calls all day every day up to an hour to any landline plus all the tv channels.

thouht i would tell you to go forth and negotiate

I negotiated and £25 reduction in what I pay Virgin last week - just told them I was leaving to go with Sky because they were doing a good deal! Was easy!

NTL/Virgin Media are safe with us - there's no way we'd go back to Sky.....not for a million £££'

But yes I do agree it's worth calling them periodically and saying "I can get a better deal with x,y,z" and it's amazing what they can do for you

why are Sky so bad? just out of interest? I think NTL are crap.

fannyannie · 17/02/2007 18:29

sky were just a pain in the ar*e when we were with them - and even after we left it took over a YEAR before they finally stopped calling me asking to rejoin them (despite numerous attempts by me to get them to STOP calling).

They put their prices up regularly, the boxes never last long, and IME the picture 'sticks' regularly. Wasn't 100% convinced by NTL when we first switched to them - but wouldn't go back now.

thanks for this, just got £20 off our excisting package!

Lucycat · 28/02/2007 13:51

I do this regularly - I'm currently paying half price for my TV/phone/broadband - in fact my phone package means that most months they owe me money!!

although whether they'll look quite so good after midnight tonight

ssd · 28/02/2007 16:18

whats happening after midnight then?
