Good lightweight stroller for light "off-road" duties?

I've been using a Phil and Ted's so far but now that DS2 is 18mth and DS1 walking nearly everywhere, I need to get a lighter/more compact buggy for DS2.

We live in a village so going out tends to involve grass, gravel etc. Someone gave me an old umbrella stroller with small wheels and it was AWFUL - could hardly move it over our gravel drive. After the Phil & Ted's it was horrible to push and manoeuvre.

Any ideas for a lightweight buggy that can cope with a bit of terrain? I could keep the P&T for excursions and get a small buggy for the shops but I just know I'd have the wrong one at the wrong time. Or they would BOTH clutter up the car boot.

All the umbrella-fold buggies look the same to me how do I choose? Help?

Thank you for those suggestions. I don't think I want another 3 wheeler, because it can be quite long front to back when getting around tiny shops/cafes. I need to be able to push one-handed so that I can catch hold of a wayward toddler with the other one though.

Think I will get down to the local pram showroom and try a few out. I like the look of the Maclaren a bit at the price!

Micralite? Has large airfilled rear tyres to cope with rougher ground, but folds compactly & easily.

A friend at toddler club has offered a Mothercare Atlan to borrow. Not an umbrella folding one but it does have a single handle which might be useful for pushing with one hand and a colossal shopping basket. Will see how I get on! thanks for comments.
