I@m currently having a nightmare with talk talk. I was going to change over from bt, but changed my mind. Cancelled but they still switched over. The line is AWFUL. Crackles, echos, doesn't dial properly. They've taken their first bill already and are refusing to say they shouldn't have switched so make sure you definately want to go over!!

crap,crap,crap!

i couldnt wait to get back to bt, they might charge more but at least you can get through to them for free if you have a problem.unlike talktalk, where you have to wait about half an hour to talk to someone in a foreign country who you cant understand and they cant understand you.

they owe me £60 and they sent bad debt letters from an agency to me, stating i owed them money. its still ongoing now.

my internet connection would cut out so often i couldnt wait till my contract had finished.

rant over

chocolatebirdy · 13/02/2007 14:15

crap crap crap, they gave our line back to bt and couldnt explain why and couldnt sort it out, told us to contact bt?! Line was bad, internet slow and they are now sending us letters from a collections agency saying we owe them money which we dont!! Am considering reporting them to ofcom.

We are with telewest/ntl now. Very happy with them.

slayerette · 13/02/2007 14:29

Had a nightmare time switching over from previous internet provider to TalkTalk - lots of problems with internet connection at first and found it v difficult to get through to helpline. However, we did switch at the time of their special offer and they just couldn't cope with demand for broadband. Seems to have settled down now and I love having free daytime calls (we're on their phone/broadband package)but the internet connection does fail every now and then and takes a minute or so to reconnect.

MissGolightly · 13/02/2007 14:31

I find them pretty good - they are certainly cheap (our bills are half what they were with BT, we have the international all-inclusive package).

Only criticisms: their customer services can be hard to get hold of, and the phone line is a bit crackly since we switched over, no worse than a mobile but not quite up to BT level.

superloopy · 13/02/2007 14:41

They are ok but nothing special. Broadband is slow and gets a bit frustrating at times when it won't connect you to a web page.

We have the international package and I love it because I can call my family in Australia whenever I want for free. This alone makes all the annoying stuff worth it. I call my Mum nearly every day!!

brandy7 · 13/02/2007 14:41

chocolatebirdy, so they say YOU owe them money also. how are you dealing with it? sorry for hijack mosschops

brimfull · 13/02/2007 15:14

I'd say their internet is a bit crap but I also have the international free calls and my family live in Canada so well worth the minor hiccups.

mosschops30 · 13/02/2007 18:42

so if I can get cheaper with SKY would anyone recommend that?

seeing as Talktalk are obviously crap given the few reports on here, sounds awful for some of you

We had (& are still having, despite cancelling nearly a year back) an awful experience with TALK TALK & would never reccomend anyone going with them!

BouncyTigger · 13/02/2007 18:52

We've had no problems at all with talktalk. Started with their broadband 2 years ago then switched to the broadband/phone package with free international calls about a year ago. We love it, free calls all the time and our best friends are in Australia so free to call too. No problems connecting with Australia and never had a bad phoneline. So much cheaper than our old BT and broadband package.

pinkchampagne · 13/02/2007 19:00

We've had terrible trouble with them! They never sent us a modem, so we couldn't get online, so we cancelled them, paying a £70 cancellation fee for the pleasure!
That was nearly a year back & they are still sending us monthly bills, even though we cancelled them & have been back with BT for months!
You can never get through to anyone on their helpline, but when we finally do, they say they will sort the problem, but then a couple of weeks later yet another bill pops through our door!!
I wouldn't touch them if I were you!

brandy7 · 13/02/2007 19:06

Wish id posted a message on here ages ago about them now didnt realise i wasnt the only one that had been ripped off by them
