This may be the dumbest question anyone has asked all day....

It's raining today, and dd doesn't currently have a raincoat that fits (only a hideous/impractical school uniform cagoule I wouldn't inflict on her unless required). I've pulled out the Muddy Puddles catalogue thinking I'll order her something .....BUT....

what do you get them to wear in the rain when they need a raincoat, but also need the warmth of a heavy coat too? Do you get a huge raincoat that fits over the top of their winter coat? And then is far too big in warmer weather?? Send them out in a winter coat and umbrella?

Sorry to ask such a dopey question...but need help advice please...

Dd has a raincoat with a fleece in it - you can take the fleece out and wear either piece on it's own, or zip the two pieces together to make a warm waterproof coat. You can get them from outdoors shops, and I've seen them in places like M&S before as well.

My DS has a waterproof coat that has a fleece which zips inside. The 2 together plus a thick jumper underneath warm eough for winter, and waterproof on its own when wet in the summer.

Regatta is the brand we have - is waterproof and breatheable but not too pricey.

DC also have waterproof dungarees for wearing with wellies for splashing in puddles/playing on the beach in winter

Depends on what we have available at the particular size she happens to be at the time.... atm she would wear her mac with a thick fleece underneath.

Hnmm - this zip in fleece idea is a good one. Don't know how I missed out on those...could my hatred of shopping be coming back to haunt me?

I have just bought one of these for my dd in the Vertbaudet sale, it is 60% off too.
