DS is 6 months so want to start looking at next car seat for him. Looking to buy it pretty soon so we have it ready and waiting for when he is finally big enough.

At the moment we have a Maxi Cosi Cabrio and I like it, was just going to go out and buy the next step up in the same range (think its Maxi Cosi Priori) but wondered if you MNers could share your collective wisdom.

You have to check whether the one you want is actually compatable with your car. Mothercare and Halfords do fitting services to help you choose. Then look at the ncap website to see what the safety ratings are.

Toys are us do a fitting service too. We went there and they were great.

ok if you want a really safe one (which i assume you do) either go for an isofix one (such as maxi cosi fixi or the britax ISOFIX one, or failing that im sure in the which report the maxi cosi tobi was the safest non isofix one.

The maxi cosi priori does very well also.
