A replacement car for me!

I'm looking to replace my 2006 mondeo soon, pls can I have your recommendations:

• Budget 10-14k
• Reasonable priced parts/servicing
• Big enough for family of 4
• Mainly for school runs/occasional mway
• Low mileage

Thinking maybe qashqai or 3 series....although bit worried about running costs on bmw/audi/mercedes

I have an Audi which is very cheap to run. 50+ miles per gallon, £0 road tax.
My best advice to you is to find a local car supermarket, go along and tell the salesman what you need. They will show you different models that fit your requirements. Have a look, then go away and have a think about it.
I've bought my last two cars from that type of place and don't regret it.
Just to let you know, there is little 'wriggle room' in the car you are buying, but you can negotiate on the car you are trading in.
