I want a funky wall clock - help!

Hi all, just wondered if any MNetters can tell me of any good sites for funky wall clocks. We have seen a couple fo great ones recently but they were well over £100 which I'd rather not spend if I can help it.

Then found a great one which we ordered but sadly fell through as shop couldn't get it for us. That was a small circular face with like prongs coming out of it with big yellow balls on it. Honest, it looked much better than my description makes it sound! Maybe think more like Dairmund Gavin's recent garden for Chelsea

I quite like some of the designs on here but really could do with a more yellow/orange colour scheme for the one we are getting.

So, any ideas?

TIA!

Cheers! You know, the one we ordered was really really similar to that last one with the balls - in the orange colour.

I reckon DD would love the John Lewis one though

I will look through other site tomorrow, when had less to drink!

Okay, 9with help) I have found the 'inspired by Geroge Nelson ball clock that I really liked but I now need to find a UK site which sells it, which I am having so much trouble finding

I have a REALLY AWFUL Looney tunes clock, given to me for xmas. Every hour a different Looney Tunes character says something, but it sounds as if they all have laryngitis!

Hulababy · 13/06/2004 10:45

I have found this one here - with no dial. Just need to find out what size it is, biut I think it looks pretty funky!

There's really nice one in the Little Green Earthlets catalogue. Or have you tried looking on Urchin website? D

Hulababy · 13/06/2004 16:15

I couldn't find any clocks on the Little Green Earthlets site; only funky ones on Urchin were children's ones.

I think the man in the shop downstairs from us is able to get us the one with no dial from his contacts, and his some new designs just come in - so we will see what we can find!

Great clocks - including orange ball clock - from SCP . Look in Accessories/Clocks and watches.

Hulababy · 13/06/2004 21:57

I know, but look at the price - £143 for a clock!!! I just can't justify it Thanks for the link though, I can just look and dream!

Ange8 · 13/06/2004 22:01

Oh - I've just noticed that the Sheffield stockist for SCP is Prego - which I guess is where you saw the clock they couldn't get hold of for you...

Hulababy · 13/06/2004 22:02

Actually Prego is the other shop we go to - have a different one dalso downstairs called Form - which is the one we tried to use. Prego does sell the 'real' ones though and they are still same high prices there too!

here ? or here ?

Chandra · 13/06/2004 23:01

If it helps you to justify the expense, clocks designed by Nelson are classics of design, you would be owing a piece of history Have you tried EBay?, I'm sure I have seen them there in a couple of ocassions.

Chandra · 13/06/2004 23:06

There are several available in EBay! Brand new and boxed unfortunately is still around £95

Chandra · 13/06/2004 23:08

Found a quite unexpensive copy!!! only £8 (yes £8) at the moment, see this

Ange8 · 13/06/2004 23:26

Oh - well done Chandra! I've started to hanker after one of these clocks myself! But I would be wary about bidding on ebay for anything overseas - need to consider what the postage and packing costs would be. Hulababy - Have you seen this , which is similar to the one you saw on dwell.co.uk?

Chandra · 13/06/2004 23:29

Well, it would take some time to arrive or it may arrive broken but at £8 I would take the gamble
