M&S washing instructions...insane

After reading (thanks Codswallop) about the new M&S doctrine of putting wool wash instructions on 100% cotton t-shirts I have been studying the labels on dp's work shorts and t shirts - ALL WOOL WASH. At least I can make up a full load...

I think this is rubbish. It must surely mean that they will not stand up to much wear and tear. That company really deserves to die now IMO...what hope is there?

oh, i've just started a thread about m&s t-shirts. but theu don't say wool.

it is the two lines under the 40 deg sign that indicate wool apparently
I have the cap sleeved ones and dh has several ncie polo type shirts, we bung them in at 40 with all the same colours, no shrinkage here as yet

oh well, i've done it wrong.
didn't know the 2 lines meant wash as wool.
i'll take them back then go and buy them from somewhere else. thanks

how about 'principles' - has anyone had success with those this year?
