HELP!! Car seat for Nissan Micra

Can anyone give me some advice re: car seats that will fit a Nissan Micra??

I have a 12 month old son and am 7 months pregnant. Already have a Britax First Class seat in my Toyota Corolla which is going to be getting scrapped at the end of this week. Have been offered a Nissan Micra but wanted to find out about car seat compatibility before I decide. Tried Britax customer services but they told me to take the car along to get the seats fitted. Cant do that if i dont have the car!!

Will be using Graco Autobaby and base (manual says it should fit in rear of Micra) for new baby but am looking for a seat for my son that will also fit in the rear.

Does anyone know of any 1-2-3 stage seats e.g. Britax Evolva or similar that will fit??

Anyone help much appreciated.

Jackie.

Have you tried the Britax fit finder to get an idea ? Evolva 123 doesn't fit all cars in all positions(requires a fair amount of seat belt and even then is snug ). Evolva is pretty much the only stage 1,2,& 3 seat that Which ? rate at all.

I had the previous shape Micra and the Britax Renaissance did nto fit well, but the Eclipse was very secure there.

A car is much cheaper than a carseat, so I would suggest taking the Micra to John Lewis or similar shop and buying the carseat once you have the car. Do your research on Which first, so you know which carseats you consider worth checking. Or check wih your local councils (not just your own, but any within reasonable reach) to see whether they have Road Safety Offcer who will help you choose a car. Enfield council used to have a brilliant RSO called Phil Emmans (or Emmonds, can't quite remember his name), if you're anywhere near N London.
