That's it really. I don't want her fiddling around with switches on wires really (mainly because she'll pull it off the bedside table! Is there such a thing as one they can just touch to switch on?
Thanks.

ToysRus to a plug in Lindam light that switches itself on at dusk and off at dawn. I use it for night feeds and nappy changes and its adequate for that. I don't think you could read by it though.

It plugs directly into the socket, no wires.

A lot of children I know have the wall lights from Ikea that are things like stars, flowers, moons etc. They fasten to the wall and then have a wire down to a socket with a switch part way down. I know it is not what you said but we have had no problem with them with our chldren. We have them plugging in behind the bed so there is only a short length of flex out. My DCs are nrealy 6 and 2 1/2. DD has had one for a few months now.

I have the same dilema with my three year old.
I bought him a battery touch light which you fix to the wall...within a week the batteries had gone and it had been pulled off the wall.
He is now borrowing our living room lamp...but I too need a long term safe lamp for him.
I'll be watching the thread to see too!
