how do I get money (bells) in animal crosing?????

AAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!

My ds has been playing animal crossing since yesterday - it is really sweet, but he needs some money to do stuff and couldn't work it out. I took the ds and the instructions off him to help half an hour ago and am really stuck!

Please help me earn some cred in front of my 7yr old sono therwise he will never see me as an authority in anything.

You can earn bells by selling stuff to Tom Nook at the store - try picking fruit, going fishing (once you get a rod), digging for fossils (look for the marks on the floor), or try selling him any bits of furniture or clothes etc you have spare. You can get furniture and clothes by going to the police station lost property, or by doing errands for the animals (go talk to them and see if they want stuff doing), or try shaking the trees - sometimes bags of bells drop out!

I've not played for a while, so can't remember off hand the exact controls for all these things, but mostly it's just going up to things and hitting the main button.

Remember to watch for the seasonal stuff that happens - it all adds to the fun.
