We have one (not lakeland), perfect white rice every time. Not so good for brown, as the cooking time is so much longer, i find it easier to boil it.

i just hte the plava of measuring it out properly and watching the cooker. hence the love of the rice cooker. but the sodding things just stop working.
where did you get yours ffrom, and why is it easier to boil?

It's easier to boil brown rice simply because it takes so much longer in the microwave. For white rice the microwave is perfect. We got ours from woolies years ago and its falling to bits. Very easy, measure out a cup of rice, one and a half cups of water, microwave for 8 minutes. Will have a peeep at lakelands. {http://www.alacook.co.uk/item--Microwave-Rice-Cooker--KCRICECOOK.html\this} is more like ours.

We've been doing rice in the microwave for years, white or brown. Wouldn't do it any other way (unless microwave breaks!)

My old rice cooker got lost when we moved so I bought the Lakeland one but I did prefer my old one and it was cheaper. Something like this .
