Megane (old model) and a double buggy - will it fit?

I need a new car to do the nursery run and as I only do ~ 3k miles a year I can't justify anything snazzy.

I had pretty much decided on a 2000 plate Megane as, for the money, it has really good safety features and has 5 doors. It doesn't really thrill me but seems to check all the boxes.

BUT I have just found out I am pregnant with baby no 2. Does anyone else have old style Megane and do they manage to get a double buggy in the boot? What I really would like is a Scenic but to get the safety features I want in a Scenic is a bit out of my price range.

Yes I have an old style megane and the double buggy thing can be tricky. First I bought a big mothercare alpine three wheeler. This would just about fit if wheels were taken off! Far too much hassle, so bought a mothercare duolite - this fitted with a few mms to spare. I now have a maclaren double which folds umbrella style so fits with ease and with space for shopping. Always fancied a Phil and Ted but too expensive! Hope this helps x

thanks - that is a big help.

I too fancy a 3 wheeler - possibly the out and about Nipper that my friend has.

By the sounds of it though it isn't going to fit in a megane boot....
