I had this once. The poor driver had been miles all over the countryside. It seemed that they have a wide catchment area for each van. I phoned them in the end. Think there number is on their site. He did turn up about hour an dhalf late in the end. Other times they have always been fine though.

chocolatebirdy · 22/01/2007 22:57

Should i just assume that they will not be here tonight and that my shopping will be slowly moulding in the back of the van all night!

I'd be straight on the phone to them, demanding an explanation and telling them that i will be suing Tesco in future

saltireneepsandtatties · 23/01/2007 09:28

I meant "using" tesco, not suing them

Bozza · 23/01/2007 09:29

Well they are usually here within the first half hour of my slot with no problem. But last week it was due at 6-8 and they rang me at work at 5.30 (I had already left) to say they were cancelling due to high winds. Due to problem with website I had not managed to order everything so had been to Asda in my lunchhour so could have got more then. The winds were already subsiding by this point and I do think they could have given me more notice.

chocolatebirdy · 23/01/2007 09:36

They didnt ring me with any kind of explanation, when i rang them they said they would talk to the shop it comes from and get back to me, so they didnt bother! Have spoken to them today and they spoke to the store and apparently they had problems with their vans and couldnt deliver. She couldnt tell me when i was likely to get my shopping though!! The store is meant to be ringing to let me know but an hour has gone by and still not heard. Do they think i have nothing better to do than sit indoors waiting to see if they ever decide to deliver it. I am running out of everything from tea bas to nappies!! lol at suing tescos!!
