By special request from Countess Drac.....

Advice needed on good flooring for these areas. We have wood flooring (not floorboards) downstairs but would this be too noisy upstairs? I think I want something a bit cosier...I like natural coloured floorings but am scared by the beige carpet threads re: staining and dirt!

Ideas?

I got a dark beige carpet throughout my landing and stairs area and it's v good. It was just the light stone colour that has been a nightmare! Agree wood would be too noisy imo.

I know it sounds horrendous bt have a look at lino. My mum has just had complete floor space done in an offwhite no pattern. It looks fab. Ihad great reservations about it. There is loads to choose from and would be great for kids bedrooms and is warmer than laminate.

lino's great but could be a bit slippery?
