How can I identify the manufacturer and name of a fabric sample?

I have a sample of some curtain fabric that I want to use for our sitting room. I e-mailed a picture of it to the people who I thought make it, but they didn't recognise it. I have no idea who makes it, but I think it might be called "Moravia" .

I know this is a really long shot, but does anyone have any ideas how I could track it down?

jampots · 15/01/2007 18:29

where did you get the sample from? Can they help ytou?

I phoned the shop I bought it from (they actually made curtains from it for our old house but we've since relocated).

The lady in the shop and I both thought it was made by Voyage, and it is certainly a Voyage-type fabric. I e-mailed a picture of it to Voyage and they didn't recognise it, so I'm back to square one.

Could you post a pic of it ?I have worked with endless fabrics and may recognise it

Cloudhopper · 16/01/2007 09:26

A longshot but you could put Voyage as a search into ebay and see if any of them match it?

noddyholder · 16/01/2007 09:27

moravia is a type of linen

I would take it to John Lewis and ask the peeps in the curtain dept

Been into our lcoal department store and closest I found were Sundour - Cedar for example - or Sanderson fabrics like these

mrsdarcy · 17/01/2007 11:17

Thanks for all the replies. Lizs, those Sanderson fabrics are lovely. Noddy, I didn't realise Moravia was a type of linen. It's the only name that has been stuck in my head but maybe it's a red herring.

We used the fabric for our sitting room curtains in our old house. I've spoken to the woman who supplied the fabric and made the curtains, and she can't remember what it is called although she thought Voyage made it. She said she thought it was discontinued. I've sent a picture of it to some website I found that specialise in supplying discontinued fabric, with no luck so far.

I'll tout it around John Lewis and see if they recognise it. Otherwise the time may come when I have to admit defeat
