dd2 (6 and a half) is slight, but not notably. she in no way stands out from any of her friends as a skinny-minny. I took her to M&S to get some new uniform the other day and I kid you not stuff for age 4 was falling off her waist. it was too short - but falling off her. the age 6 stuff was the right length but just laughably big round the waist. I took about 8 things into the changing rooms - different sizes, different styles and not a single one came even close to fitting. in september I did the same thing, except also tried BHS, Woolies and Mothercare. the other day I just decided I oculdn't be bothered - I knew the outcome would be the same. is it just me?

I have the same with dd who is five but tall and skinny, I can only buy her skirts or trousers with an adjustable waist, for school she has to wear a pinafore as I kow that will stay up.

I have been reliably informed by dd that pinafores are for nursery and reception!

probably hatwoman as dd is in reception and she keeps naggingfor a skirt.

those adjustable waists - on school uniform dd and I call them old man's trousers - they look ridiculous on her. got a pair of combat type trousers from gap - with adjustable waist - that are ok. but no good for school!

and, even more annoying - the way they make waists these days makes them impossible to adjust.
