don't know whether this should be in the slimming thread or not.. but has anyone tried these awful (but apparently miraculous) tights yet?

Never heard of them but it sounds interesting, tell us more!

unicorn · 29/05/2004 21:57

well apparently they are infused with caffeine and can reduce your measurements (waist thighs etc)
something to do with the caffeine getting into skin...
anyway they look awful- American tan I think... and cost about 25 quid!! but apparently they can work.... curiously!

So- anybody tried them?

No, but a 'guinea pig' for our local paper beauty section did a trial on them a few weeks back and gave a very good review and was very surprised as they actually worked! Umm don't fancy them in this weather though.

unicorn · 30/05/2004 22:15

maybe you can wear them overnight (dead sexy- er not!) and wake up to streamlined hip/thighs...!!
think I could manage that!

mmm, absorbing caffeine thro your skin: that sounds healthy!

NomDePlume · 10/06/2004 10:05

Saw them reviewed on GMTV (Lorraine Kelly's bit), and they got 3 women of very different shapes in, asked them to wear the tights every day for 3 weeks without making any changes to their diet/exercise routine, and they lost quite a few inches between them ! I was impressed. I think they said that it's around £25 - £30 for 4/5 pairs and you can get 3/4 washes out of each pair. Doesn't sound all that bad to me.

NomDePlume · 10/06/2004 10:07

sophable, almost all anti-cellulite / inch loss creams and treatments contain caffeine. You can even get 'coffee massages' where they literally rub ground coffee into your wobbly bits ! Apparently Cindy Crawford swears by it and it does seem to work.

Heathcliffscathy · 10/06/2004 10:09

does she stay up all night having anxiety attacks afterwards??? i'm v v intolerant to caffeine, haven't drunk it for about 3 years, altho used to LOVE it so much [wistful face]

albert · 10/06/2004 10:14

When I was younger and couldn't afford fake tan I used to paint my legs with tea maybe I could do the same with coffee now. These sound great though, any idea what they're actually called?

unicorn · 10/06/2004 10:19

albert - you'd smell like a Starbucks cafe tho!!!

OP posts:
albert · 10/06/2004 10:33

Oh, hadn't thought of that. Do you think it would keep mosquitos away though? I'd be willing to give it a try, or maybe they like coffe!! BIG problem with mossies here!

NomDePlume · 10/06/2004 10:36
