Cosytoes that stays in place? (Maclaren Techno Classic?)

Anyone found a cosytoes that actually stays in place and doesn't slip down the buggy.
I had a basic John Lewis one which only attaches via the buggy straps... it slipped down even on its own, before putting ds in it! Then of course when his clothes rubbed against the lining fabric it slipped a bit further.
I have seen some of the buggy-snuggle-type ones which tie on at the top... but do they fix anywhere else? For example at the back of the seat (in the fold between back & seat parts)?
I am looking at buying a Maclaren Techno for #2 and remember a blue/grey one which came with a cosytoes (actually 2 parts - liner & "apron" I think) but it doesn't seem to be sold anymore. It looked good for staying in place and for sliding baby in and out, as the lining was more like smooth nylon and less like fleece/fur/suede. Anyone know about this?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions...

i have techno xt one which only slips very slightly but i think that its held in place but the pillow that comes with buggy which velcros onto back of buggy, the zip is good for getting baby in and out but a pasin when going in and out of shops as it gets warm so i want to take it off, and end up with a bit flapping about as i cant put it under dd's legs, the other thing is with a maclaren its says not to fold with cosytoes on (PITA) so i just take top bit off leaving liner in whenb i fold (wish i had known that before bought buggy).

catilla, i have that cosytoes for maclaren techno xt; the liner fits onto back of pram via arm and crotch straps and the cover bit zips on.

it did a great job and didn't slip
infact its amongst a whole load of things (baby bjorn, play pen etc) have been meaning to sell as ds is way too large for it now though pram still going strong..
its in grey / red and good condition if you are interested

I have the Maclaren Classic and its fab.

The lining stays well put as it is fixed with velcro at the top, plus the buggy straps go through at the shoulder and the waist so these also hold it in place and the crotch buckle stops it slipping.

Plus its a great buggy and very comfortable to use.

Suzy, do you have any pics that could show the attachments & condition? Would be interested to see it fully unzipped too.
I might be interested as then I could just buy the latest one which comes without.
Could you email to mulcathy at hotmail dot com please?

Does it zip all the way around the bottom?

Thanks

catilla,
have done some pics of cosytoes earlier today and just need to do some of it in pram in situ etc.. just back from busy day will get them off tonight..my apologies

it is completely grey with reflector and is in very good condition

suzycreamcheese · 14/01/2007 20:47

catilla
have just emailed off various photos of cosy toes, hope you get it alright.

Thanks Suzy. Fantastic set of pics which really show it well. Unfortunately it's not what I'm looking for - isn't very different from my John Lewis one in size/fabric or fitting :-(

Anyone else got any ideas? I'm thinking either try to find the Techno Classic one (pale blue & grey from a couple of years ago). Alternative would be something like a Buggy Snuggle and maybe add some ties or velcro to fit round the struts of the buggy if it does slip. At least baby won't grow out of that so fast.

okay, hope you find what you're after

Mothercare have the Techno Classic in stock at the moment. We have that one and have used it since ds2 was 8 weeks old or so. It is brilliant and the cosytoes bit still fits him now at 18 months. The bits all come out to wash and come up brilliantly in the machine. HTH

Catilla · 16/01/2007 16:09

Thanks for the link Bagpuss. It's showing out of stock at the moment. I might try and go to a big one eg. Mothercare World and see if they have any old stock... looks like Maclaren are discontinuing it I think.

Is yours the navy/check version of the Classic? What sort of fabric is the inside of the cosytoes/liner? Slippery or grippy?

Has anyone tried the snugglytots or stay-put blankets? Do these stay in place better than generic cosytoes?

Oh no, was showing in stock when I posted. Mine is the red and black. Fabric is poly cotton and quite slippery but ok for tinies. HTH
