next used to do a really nice blue tankini. it had sort of bits at the side so you could either cover your bump or not.

katzguk · 28/05/2004 10:14

i bought a regular tankini from john lewis, the knickers sat just under my bump and the top bit rested on the top of it, fully supportive top section to, plus i can still where it now as is wasn't maternity

SpringChicken · 28/05/2004 10:45

Twinkie - does it have to be maternity?

When i went on my hols back in March (25 weeks pregnant) i just bought a bigger size tankini - granted i didn't atually like it much but there you go - i also carried on wearing my normal bikini's which were the ones that tied at the sides and the tops tied round the neck and back - these were great cos i could just make them as loose as i wanted.

Anyway, enough advise from me - very depressed with people going on holiday when i'm not Plus, don't think they have a made a bikini big enough to fit me - i'm like the back of a bus!

I did a link for you before (harrumph!) for blooming marvellous, will try again here

Also, jojomamanbebe is nice

Twinkie · 28/05/2004 10:52

I'll be 24 weeks but would get arrested for wearing conventional bikini as my boobs are too big!! - My normal ones are out of the question as I don't think they would even cover my nipples!!

May have a bit of a search on the web if not looks like its the tankini or a bikini from Evans or somewhere for women with huge knockers!!

£58!!!! are you mad woman?

Twinkie · 28/05/2004 13:07

But it is really lovely - pale pink (so will look great when I have a tan) and very very pretty - ties at front of top and at both sides of bottoms - Does that mean I can;t have it then!!

It is a bit dear for just your pregancy time. Or will you be able to wear it after and tie up the ties a bit tighter. AM NOT SAYING YOU WILL STILL BE FAT!

Twinkie · 28/05/2004 13:55

Not sure if I could wear it after - might wait and see how big I am a few weeks before its time to go might be disgustingly fat and not want to wear bikini I suppose!!

Although just been out to lunch with DP andhe said that if I really wanted it he will treat me to it!!

OP posts:
oliveoil · 28/05/2004 14:02

Well if he is going to treat, it would be rude not to . I was worried about my stretch mark development - still holding them at bay fingers crossed - so I decided to go for a vest top style just in case.

Twinkie · 28/05/2004 14:05

No have to have belly out as nasty woman who is meeting us half way through hols hates pregnant women with their bumps out - forgot about that - so better say yes please to DP afterall!!

What you using for your stretchmarks OO??

I was using the palmers cocoa butter for stretchmarks but Boots had an offer on a tub of something which smelt nice (!) so I am using that. V thick like butter. Have still got the teeny ones from first pregnancy round my belly button so hopefully they won't spread. Have HUGE bump however and am only 28 weeks.

Twinkie · 28/05/2004 14:12

I hate thenm too cod but really want to do anything I can to get on her nerves!!

Ooohhhh I am using Johnsons Body Silk or something like that but I want to get another tub of Sainsbury's maternoty cream but can't seem to see it in our Sainsbury's anymore

I have a few stretchmarks right at the bottom near my bikini line but thats it thank god - I am much bigger this time though OO!!
