Fabric for Sofas in London

I'm trying to find out if there's anywhere other than John Lewis that sells furnishing fabric in London. I'm getting an old sofa reupholstered and am hoping to cut the cost by finding somewhere that sells cheaper fabric if possible, or just some alternatives. In particular I was hoping to find somewhere that might do offcuts or whatever. Any thoughts at all would be massively welcome.

QPootle, there's a place I sometimes go to called Malabar, where they have twice-yearly sales of some lovely pricey fabrics (many are sold in John Lewis)
they're in vauxhall (you can order full price online but i love getting stuff for £5/metre when it's been £35..)

You could try Ian Mankin, two shops in London I think, well priced fabrics and will send samples in post. Dont have details but if you google you will find them. Good luck...

Brilliant. Thank you so so much. Will def check those two out. My mum's foudn me somewhere outside London that makes furniture and then sells rolls of fabric off because they're discontinuing the lines at like £2 a metre rather than £35. Just got to get down to there, which isn't very likely so these look like much more manageable. Thank you again.

There's a place near me called The Curtain Mills - think they have oulets in London too- sell curtain and upholstery fabric.

Another place to try is a market - they often have stalls selling fabric.
