Hi. We currently use BT for our phone and INternet. As far as I know, it's BT together with BT Openworld Surftime, which gives us free Internet use off-peak (dh isn't in atm to see me on here!).So far so good, I've had no complaints except we just realised that it costs us £55 per month. We genuinely hardly ever use the phone as we communicate mainly by text messages and don't use the internet that much so this seems a bit much to me- what do you think?

There must be some better deals out there- any advice? I need to keep the same phone number if we do change provider (not sure about email address) but I don't know anything about it, I really need an idiot proof guide from start to finish!
TIA

We get broadband AOL for £24.99 a month (from this month - was £27.99 before) for unlimited use - no phone charges at all - and have BT Together which is £11? a month or thereabouts.

Yours does sound like a lot (esp as it's only free offpeak?)

HTH!

Oh, is the £55 your monthly direct debit to BT including calls? Do you have a credit balance on your bill? If so you can ask to have it refunded and then make smaller Direct Debit payments.

I have BT option3 which is unlimited calls up to an hour for 25pound a month and BT broadband for 27.99. I actually think this quite cheap?! because I spend most the time either on the phone or on the internet. NTL do cheaper broadband packages but they dont cover here sniff sniff

Im with BT Broadband for 29.99 a month and BT option 1 which is about £13 a month and i can stay on the phone for an hour for only 6p in the evenings. Since going onto Broadband and not having to pay for daily internet usage my phone bill is next to nothing. About 3 pounds on top of the line rental.

We're doing Bt option 3, £25, plus just changed to Tiscali for the internet, which is £7.99 for unlimited calls between 8am and 6pm. Great for me, just means no-one can get through to me during the day! But at least I dont have to lie to dh anymore and say it was someone calling me, as it doesn't cost extra anymore!

Hi, have just changed everything and very pleased so far: BT line rental for £10 a month. Tiscali broadband for £16 a month (included free modem. Tele2 for phone calls- averaging £15 a month. I would say our phone usage was about average, and I certainly don't refrain from using it. HTH.
