Hi,

Firstly, wish I found out about this site a couple of years ago.

Anyway, going on holiday shortly to Malta with 20 month old dd who likes to walk. We want to buy a super lightweight buggy for when she is tired. We are also going with a 3 month old who has a Maclaren. Looking at Maclaren Volo and Chicco Caddy. Do any of you have either, if so what do you think of it. Not so keen on the Volo as it doesnt recline.
Thanks
Joanne

I used the Volo, it was great and really lightweight, easy to collapse and with a carrying strap but you are right, it doesn't recline.

I borrowed the Chicco Caddy when we went on holiday and it was fine. I used it for my Ds who was about 5 mths at the time.
Does recline yes, not a great deal but enough for them to snooze.

I personally wouldn't want a buggy that they couldn't snooze comfortably in.

I had a Chicco Caddy for abuot 2 years, than the footrest collapsed due to dd jumping on it all the time. It was great in all respects, she slept v. well in it.

Didn't look at the volo because of the recline position and the fact, that with £50 with the Chicco you get all the accessories while with the volo you have to fork out an extra 30quid!!
Had to buy a new one recently and stronlgy regret ahving gone for a maclaren daytripper, whiose wheels are so tiny that it gets stuck in the smallest of cracks in the pavement! (dd fell off it once because of this, but at least now she lets me strap her in!!)

Big problem with Volo is that it doesn't have any sun protection or shade. Sorry I don't have another suggestion though.

also, actual recline mechanism for recline is horrible on daytripper- DO NOT BUY (fwiw)

You can buy a volvo accesory pack with sunshade bag and rainshield for £25. Horrid grey colour though. I've found it great, not reclining but my 11 month olds still sleeps well in it.

i had chicco caddy for ages and loved it. was fab pushchair and amazingly light weight-ds could lift it when it was folded! its also got quite big wheels for a stroller-good over bumps etc.

eventually it broke after 2 years of being bounced down steps, having shopping hung off it and ds being over the weight limit for it.

now have a lumbering cosatto thing (which i bought cos of the weight limit-ds is 3 1/2 yrs and nearly 3 stone!) but really miss the caddy.

We have the Chicco Caddy, kept in the car boot as the shopping buggy. It has bigger wheels than most other lightweight buggys and the best sunshade. would highly recommend this one.

Looked at both this morning in John Lewis and think Chicco Caddy is better and best price I can find is at John Lewis. It comes with more extras and reclines whcih the Volo doesn't.

whichever you get, before you buy do the bumping down steps test - a friend of mine bought a M&P? Aria? and the brake was knocked on when going down steps. My Chicco Ponee was very good and didnt do this

Kitty

I had the Aria as our first pushchair after the pram and absolutely hated it...it's nice and lightweight, but it kept getting stuck anytime I urgently needed to fold/unfold it, it was a pain to lift on pavements/steps, and the zip regulating the folding mechanism kept getting undone so dd was ALWAYS lying flat, whether she wanted or not!!
