DVD recorders

DH wants another gadget to clutter up ouur lounge and add to his remote control collection...

Could anyone recommend a DVD recorder please?

Go for one with a hard drive so you don't have to use discs. If you do want to record on discs, make sure it's one that takes multi record ones, not just once. We made this mistake

Ours is a panasonic - I think they've now changed the model. My fil has Sony and is very impressed. Don't have model number (his doens't have a hard drive though)

Ummm we have jsut had to exchange a faulty panasonic digibox so don't think he will want one of those!

Definitely don't get a DVD recorder, waste of time at this stage of the game.

We have had a Phillips hard disk recorder and although it had several good features, it went back within a year, with a very common fault that meant it just stopped working entirely.

Now we have a Sony box, HD recorder (can burn to DVD) plus Freeview - this fella . Warning: so far we haven't made it region-free, but I assume it can be done.
