Boden kid's sizes

I am actually considering buying something for ds and dd in the sale. But what are the sizes like? DD is a podgy 4 year old of average height. I usually buy her 4-5 stuff but boden s either 3-4 or 5-6.
Is the 5-6 likely to dronw her? (It's a top, not trousers). Similarly I usually buy ds 6-7 - but Boden choices are 5-6 or 7-8
Can anyone help?

my dd is a very skinny/small 4 yr old and fits their 2-3 trousers nicely and tops are 3-4.
I think you'll find the tops too tight unless you go up a size
When I say dd is skinny I mean size of a 2 yr old little
I do find boden has long sleeves so you may have roll up but the torso is quiote short on the tops so sizing up should be no hassle

I find their sizes generous.

Ds1 is almost 6 and is in the 3-4 tops, but then he is small and skinny.

Ds2 is an average sized 4 year old (almost same size as ds1!) and he's in the 3-4 as well. The 5-6 would drown both him and ds1.

dd is a small skinny 5 yr old . Her 4-5 Boden skirt is right, slightly longish, length, if loose on waist and 5-6 top a bit long in the sleeves .

OK - think I'll go for the bigger sizes for both of them - my cleaner suually bungs everything in the drier for hours anyway so guess they'll fit after one wash!

They don't really shrink in the wash - well I haven't found that they do anyway.

I find their sizing generous too. I don't think I have ever bough any of their tops for my boys, but in trousers DS1 (an average sized 7 year old) fits nicely in a 5-6 & DS2 (a small child, who is 4 in March) wears a 2-3.

boden def comes up bigger than gap. esp tops and leg/sleeve lengths.
i find the waists generally spot on.

Pablothelittleredfox · 05/01/2007 13:46

Lots of the boys trousers have adjustable waists anyway, great if you have a skinny malinky like me!

mousiemousie · 05/01/2007 13:56

I think you need 3-4 but I think they give all the measurements so you can check - if not just phone for them
