Trousers for tall skinny boys?

Ds1 is 7, tall and slim. He needs age 8 trousers for the length, but they fall down round his waist and have far too much fabric in the bum. Anywhere good for long thin people?

my ds is 10 but v skinny but I have found that asda do really good boys trousers with 1/2 elastic waist which fit him perfectly.Anything without elastic calls for a very tight belt

Wow, quick response, noddy, thanks! I used to buy lots of kids' clothes in Asda but we don't have a local one now. May be worth a trip though!

Gap have those trousers with elastic adjusters, tho maybe just for toddler sizes?

Hi, mm!

Ds2 is also v tall and skinny but he never wears actual trousers - mostly joggers, and shorts atm of course. (He has a lovely pair of baggyish jeans and desperately needs a belt for those or they just descend, last time he wore them DH had to improvise with an old tie!)

However he starts secondary school in Sept and won't be able to wear joggers there, so I'm interested to know where to look...always had the opposite prob with DS1, his legs were too short for his waist, so had to buy them far too long and rope in grandma's alteration service. I got his last school pants at Tesco, they seem to be quite good quality for the ludicrously low price, he is a lot less barrel-shaped now and they fitted OK, maybe they'd do for ds2...

scuse wittering

Primark does great boys trousers (jeans and school stuff) with internal elastic adjusters. They work really well.

Asda definitely worth a trip, also there's a mail order company called something like The Kids Company? It's the clothing part of the Great Little Trading Co, and has lots of good , elastic waisted quality trousers for my tall skinny 9 yo ds who wwon't wear a belt.
