Just a bit of a rant.
Came back after christmas last night but had pre-booked a grocery delivery today, so no food in the house, I have this dreaded cold and dd2 has a tummy bug and is being sick, so was quite smug that we didnt need to go out today.
Anyway, holding sicky baby while delivery man was dropping off bags (so couldnt check), once he had gone started to put away only to find significant amount hadnt been delivered, tea for tonight being some of the items. It wasnt substitutions, was on the list to be delivered just wasnt. As soon as I realised rang the number given on the receipt, they kept me on hold for a while only to tell me that the driver had returned to the store and all they could do was offer a refund of the goods and refund my delivery charge. I explained my situation - that I was unable to get out and needed stuff for tea but thats all they could do. Asked to speak to somebody else and they basically said the same, I asked if it was worth ringing the store and was told no.
Well, rang the store and they couldnt be more helpfull and within 1/2 hour they had delivered all my shopping.
Just make me so mad that people can no longer think for themselves, they have a script to read and thats all. I worked in a call centre for a short while and know whats it like, I know the person that initially picks up the phone cant make any decisions about anything, but thought that somebody more senior could but obviously not.
Anyway, had a bad day today as you can probably see, Tesco did come up trumps eventually thanks to the local shop home delivery manager thinking things through a bit.
