Only have a hatchback, and need a bit of extra storage when we go away. Solid roof bars and roof boxes seem a bit of an expensive investment when I only need them once or twice a year, and we don't have anywhere to store them when not in use (small flat, no garage or loft)
I've seen these soft roof bars that seem easy to use and take on and off, and I've seen you can get large waterproof roof bags that fold up when not on the car. Does anyone have any experience in using them? Any reasonably priced recommendations? I'd like to start camping again (4 years without a car put a stop to that) but it's a bit harder with a small car than with the Estates we used to have!
