it's the large one and in perfect condition, although dh wants me to get much more for it as we paid a fortune

it looks from that link that it's £825 new. I do think it's unlikely you'll get anything near £1200.

brimfull · 30/12/2006 23:19

pmsl ,no the big one it's £1615,although I think we paid more

ebay it and set a reserve. you can but try.

themoon66 · 30/12/2006 23:34

I understand that anything 2nd hand... no matter how old... should be offered at half the original price. Cannot remember where I heard/read that, but I understand that is the etiquette.

Blossomhill · 30/12/2006 23:36

People rarely pay more than half proce second hand. Usually a quarter!

brimfull · 30/12/2006 23:37

oh well am lumbered with it then,dh refuses to let go of it unless we can recoup some of the cost.

dh and i both agree that you need to look nearer £500. sorry.

Heathcliffscathy · 30/12/2006 23:43

what is the finish? is it antiqued.

if so if you can get it to us (sw london) i'll give you £800 for it.

brimfull · 30/12/2006 23:52

it is the rustic brown colour but dh won't accept £800.Sorry thanks for the offer though,I know I am being completely unrealistic but will have to live with it

OP posts:
themoon66 · 30/12/2006 23:53

800 is half price.... I would take that if i were you TBH

brimfull · 31/12/2006 00:01

I would if it was totally up to me,but dh won't agree

The original price would have been just over £2K presumably, given that there's 25% off. Why don't you wait till the sale is over then try for £1K ono. Your DH can't be that bothered about getting rid of it if he's looking for £1200. He must realise it's unrealistic, maybe it's his way of saying don't sell.
