hello everyone, need some advice. can anyone recommend a double pushchair for a large two year old and a new born. i only have a small boot on my car so needs to fold up reasonably small!

Cossatto Duetlite may be worth a look, not sure on sizeing tho, but is from newborn.
Skywalker is another one (Marco I think) but from 6mths not newborn, check the mothercare catalogue, as they have just expanded their range for doubles and the like!

I have just bought the cosatto duet lite for dd and ds2b who is due in 5 weeks time.

After many trecks to look at twin prams we settled on this as it's fairly light (well for a twin anyway!!), folds quite small and is an umbrella fold and quite compact and was only 170/180 quid.

duet lite

Phil & ted

Nemo2007 · 30/12/2006 23:15

with a 2yr old would think about a marco sky or cosatto duet. I had one as DS was 2.2yrs when DD was born and it was great. However dd is 12mths now and DB due next week so have changed to a side by side just due to the seats lying back.

Kristingle · 30/12/2006 23:15

i recomend that before you buy you try out your large 2 yo in it. I had the same situation a year ago and was shocked to find that some were a tight fit on my 18mo.Soem double buggies seem designed for twins rather than siblings

SHHHHitsthe2007countdown · 30/12/2006 23:15

another recommendation beat me to it..!!!

BTW dd is 19 months and not large but not small iykwim. She fits into it fine..quite funky looking and the front bar opens like a door to allow dc is get in/out etc.

SHHHHitsthe2007countdown · 30/12/2006 23:21

good price. That is the old model btw so maybe thats why its cheaper..therefore may also be limited stock..

IMO a good price for a pram esp if you only get a few months use out of it..We were 100% set on the jane twin two...450 quid...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Luckily I woke up and smelt the coffee .

lucy1978 · 30/12/2006 23:21

thanks for ur advice, will have to go and check these ones out.

yeah i like the jane twin but worried it will not fit in the back of a corsa! like the look of phil and ted and also the cossatto duetlite.

cc, you need to put a \ and title then } at the end of the link....

cosatto duet lite woolies

SHHHHitsthe2007countdown · 30/12/2006 23:25

word of advice: The twin two will not fit into a corsa..well I doubt it..We have a Toyota Verso and it fitted that ...at a push......... The duet lite however..shouldn't be a problem. Even dh commented on how small it was and the fact its very similar in size to a single buggy.

Good luck with the testing and searching..!!

Nemo2007 · 30/12/2006 23:28

marco sky wouldnt fit a coursa either..sorry didnt see what car you had.

lucy1978 · 30/12/2006 23:31

looks like it will be the cossatto duetlite! thanks guys

that was easy!!!! . Wish it had taken that little time for us to make our minds up..!!!

Let us know if you get one. xx

NannyL · 31/12/2006 10:33

a phile and teds would fit in a corsa

i fit it easily in the boot of my clio

boobooma · 31/12/2006 11:02

Can I crash this thread. I'm also thinking about a double, ds will be 19 months when dc arrives. Thinking about phil and teds tho expensive, cos when ds gets older and doesnt need it, can use this as a single pushchair only with dc. Can you do that with coassatto duet lite as well?

lucy1978 · 31/12/2006 23:16

hi NannyL, like the idea of the phila nd ted as can use it as a single a bit later. maybe i should find a shop that sells them and try it in the corsa! is it awkward to lift tho?

lucy1978 · 31/12/2006 23:17

Have just got the cosatto duet lite. Ds1 3.2 years old. Ds2 two weeks. Really pleased with it. Left it 'til after ds2 arrived to get and then had trouble getting hold of one.
We have a fiesta and have found it very easy to collapse and get out and also quite small when folded. The shopping basket isn't huge, but it's quite stable with stuff over the handles.
I was told the toddler seat is the same size as the maclaren. You may want to check that your 2 year old fits into it height-wise with regards to the hood, though (only a couple of inches room to manoevure for ds1).
My only criticism is that the toddler seat doesn't recline. Ds1 hardly ever goes to sleep in his pushchair, so of course he dozed off in it on one of our first outings in it and needed propping up with a cushion. (I thought he looked quite uncomfortable.)

SHHHHitsthe2007countdown · 01/01/2007 10:10

The duetlite can't be used as a single pram. iir only the p&t can be transformed into a single pram....Good idea for a pram BUT with us already having 3 single prams for dd we don't have much need for another..!!! also imo we weren't 100% taken with the p&t when things were pointed out to us......
