Double Stroller in London?

DSMEZ · 29/12/2006 18:06

Hi there--I am moving to London from the US and have two children, one is a few weeks old and the other 2 years old. I've tried to avoid the double stroller, but my 2 yo is still a bit untrustworthy when it comes to not darting out into the road. I am thinking of getting a double stroller but have heard they can be a nightmare in London. Are they best avoided? I was thinking of the Phil & Ted's stroller. Many thanks.

I am in London
Not got 2 kids yet but DS will be 2 when the next one arrives in Feb

Where will you be living and what will you be doing with your stroller?

Most side by side doubles eg Maclaren, Nipper, Mountain Buggy will fit through shop doors but may be difficult in small shops

I am going for the Phil & Teds. You see a lot of them in London and they seem to go in the small shops no problem

We have a phil and ted's. Very happy with it - completely versatile, works well for one older and one younger child. When the older one has grown out of it, it converts to single fine too.

They are expensive though, although as they are sturdy, quite easy to sell on afterwards.

I have a phil and teds E3 and am in london. It's great.

Yesterday I was in Bethnal Green, Trafalgar Square and Covent garden with it and have to say I would have struggled on some of the pavements etc without it.

I'm in london and use a p+t. They are fab. In the area I live every buggy is either a buggaboo (for the precious first born) or a p+t.
Whihc part of london are you moving to?
