I have been in touch with McVities and they sent me this email:
'As you will have seen in the news, Carlisle has been badly affected by the recent severe floods in Cumbria; as a result this has affected manufacturing at our site. The product that you enquire about is manufactured at our Carlisle factory and is currently out of stock.
We will do everything possible to minimise disruption for shoppers. Please be assured that we are looking at all alternative sources of supply until the factory is once again fully operational. Unfortunately, at this time we are unable to advise when production will recommence, but our teams are doing all we can to get the site back up and running as soon as possible to minimise the disruption for our customers and consumers.'
This will have affected all store's own brands as well, as they probably make them all anyway, so we'll all have to make do with something else, but at least we know they will be back at some point.
