Wonder if anyone else experienced this. My mate is on tax credits and was told she could get a new boiler free. British gas came round and assessed home and said new boiler yes...but cost will be £976 as it needs a little bit of scaffolding to a flat roof and a new controller. The very next day the boiler and pump broke down! She called a local plumber who said a new pump and fan is £425. He wouldn't change the boiler as its a really good one although 11 year old it rarely breaks down. What would you do? It needs fixing straight away and BG can't come for a couple of weeks. Anyone else had this issue?
