We need a new bed, and we're going for a super king size. Just wanted to know what should we go for ...

wood or metal?
what type of mattress?
where from?

We are quite clueless and don't want to get it terribly wrong on such a big purchase!

Thanks!

You def want pocket sprung mattress imo. (or whatever its called) the springs are all in individual pockets.
i always go for divans because theres no falling apart or sweaking (sp?) (sorry had a couple of glasses of wine now....)

course i meant sqeaking - what was i thinking?

Thanks, our wooden bed squeaks loads but we put that down to it being cheap.

Always try before you buy.

We got dd a(£200)bed with a £140 mattress from a catalogue - might have been Kays. Was a wooden bed and we put it together and it wobbled like hell - now hubby is very good at DIY, etc and said it was no way his bed making skills but the bed design. So obviously we sent it back, but it was a lot of hassle sorting it out. We kept the mattress (Silentnight one) and I have to say that it is the most uncomfortable mattress I have ever slept on, I kept thinking it would "break in" and it hasn't.

We ended up getting the bed from a small, non-chain bed shop in town. The man there said he gets lots of people in after they've sent beds back to Argos for been "tat".
