You need bluetooth on on both then search for new devices on either one and it should bring up the names of all devices it can find

Ahh

How do I enable bluetooth on my pc then?

I take it your pc has bluetooth built in? if so I guess there would be something in the contorl panel to enable it set.
I have a usb bluetooth dongle thingy that I use.

It won't let me chose microsoft as default - but keeps self selecting toshiba - which we don't have.

There is sometimes a switch that you have to physically switch on, iirc. Should be on the side or front of your laptop.

look for the bluetooth logo

Monkeytrousers · 26/12/2006 14:02

sorry x posted. what are you selecting?

whatwouldjesusdo · 26/12/2006 14:05

this is how mine used to work:
If the phone is showing up on the pc, double click on it, and it asks you for a pin. enter anything, eg "1111"

In a couple of seconds, the phone will ask for a pin, and you enter the same one. Then the connection should be established.

Or maybe you have to right click and select "connect" from a menu, instead of double clicking.
It was a few months ago, and in another language. But connection isnt automatic, you have to instigate it.

you want a bluetooth dongle. it's like a usb memory stick, but creates the bluetooth link between pc and phone. DP bought one in tesco for about £6 and it works well for transferring pictures, ringtones etc.

Monkeytrousers · 26/12/2006 17:37

That's what I've got. Can't get it to work!
