Miele, every time. They do cost more, but they last three times as long as any other machine. Buy the bottom of the range one, you don't need the fancy-pants light up like a xmas tree business. They really don't go wrong, and are absolutely worth paying extra for. Accept no substitute.

We have a beaumatic and that seems really good. Had it for about 10 months or so - came with the apartment.

Not Servis!!! Get one with an all metal drum inside and not plastic paddles. We've had a nightmare with ours. We've replaced it with a Bosch. it tells you when your clothes will be ready.

AEG - fantastic. wish i hadn't bothered to extend the garuantee(oops - spelling!)

last month chose and ordered lovely AEG to replace DH's 15 year old indesit - only to discover boiler pipes at back mean lovely AEG was too deep. Only brand that would fit was Indesit so cancelled my lovely AEG - BUT am surprised by just how much I like the Indesit AND I'm £170 better off.

my servis is very good. cheap and cheerful, washes excellant, my dad says it better than the indesit he bought. i swear he 'll pinch it when my back is turned.

You'll like your Indesit now kittyb...
