DS2 has put "chocolate" on his Christmas list. How big are the big slabs of mixed milk/white chocolate? Waaaaaay to big for a 5 year old? He would not be eating it all at once!!

we have a hotel chocolat shop - you can go in and browse (and smell) the goodies

MrsMillsletoe · 15/12/2006 16:32

Oh they're a fine size, he can have a few bites then send the rest to me, I can ease his burden and it is in the spirit of Christmas after all.

iota · 15/12/2006 16:35

they weigh 500g

DoesntChristmasDragOn · 15/12/2006 16:37

I could go to the shop but I'm not sure I could be trusted Already my virtual basket has sprouted a Rocky Road slab that I don't need...

MN should really have a drool emoticon in with these new changes.

I went for a job interview once in the chocolate department of a food research lab. I couldn't concentrate during the interview because of the smell...

I got a discount code through UK frenzy. 10% off. If you google HC discount it should come up

Never had the slabs though!

DoesntChristmasDragOn · 15/12/2006 16:38

MrsMillsletoe, if you can prise the bar out of his chubby little hands on Christmas day, you can have it

I'm working my way through the box that I got for my birthday on monday - should be empty and ready for replenishment by Xmas day ( here's hoping)

JackieNoHoHo · 15/12/2006 16:41

You could get him a pack of mini slabs - might be easier to ration out.

DoesntChristmasDragOn · 15/12/2006 16:43

I considered the mini slabs but thought the large one had a bigger impact in the eyes of a 5 year old.

Ta for the voucher!

Now, what else should I add...

For you or him? If for him, have you seen the chocolate tasting game thing? Haven't seen it in rl, but looks fun.

LorinaLovesSprouts · 15/12/2006 18:47

Hotel chocolat do a nice animal pack of chocs for kids.

And the dippy sets are lovely too if you dont mind supervising him.

I spent a fortune in there last weekend......
