dd is getting cluedo - I had already bought it and very cleverly managed to show it to her in a shop and get her to decide she wanted it all by herself!

which one is best...

cranium good for a mix of personalities - there are spelling and word puzzles too so don't have to do something extroverted if you don't want to. There are 2 Cranium versions, you would need to get the one for families rather than the adult one. Pictionary is fun too, but of course it is only drawing. I love board games, and my dad is a partner in a toy shop, so we always had new games at Christmas to road test. Still do in fact

or could try Cadoo - is aimed at children rather than adults though - your children cvoyuld play it by themselves with their mates without adult intervention.

We have both.
My DD aged 9 and DD aged 12 both think Cranium is the best of the two.

cranium definitely

chocolaterobin · 12/12/2006 18:18

Cant beat a good old game of ludo!!!

We have party pictionary. Instead of paper it has a wipe clean board, which fits into a slot, and each team has to guess what their drawing is. it's great, we often play it when we are drunk.
Which of course doesn't happen very often
DS1 is getting Cludeo as well

Just seen this. Played Cranium last night for first time. It was hilarious! The drinks we'd had might have helped but it was so funny, especially the humzingers! Spent about 3 hours playing and didn't even know it had been so long. not laughed so hard like that fr a long time. definitely recommend it. Think we might be buying it.

we got cranium in the end... but I didn't get the kids addition [sigh] so some of the tasks are a bit hard for the kids 8 and 10 we just swap them for one they do..
but its still really good....
